We arrived in the charming town of Copan in order to visit the Copan ruins – a ten minute walk out of the town centre. This was the furthest south the Mayans came during their empire. Though there is little to do in town itself, we did stumble across a couple of excellent eateries & wine bars to pass the time.
The walk out to the ruins.
The ruins have been restored and are set amongst a charming mountain range.
The walk back from the ruins.
We then headed to the ferry port at La Ceiba to catch the ferry for 1.5 hours to Roatan Island.
The main activities on Roatan are relaxing, snorkelling, diving and relaxing some more.
